Order of the Arrow Details

What is the Order of the Arrow? The Order of the Arrow, often called the OA, is a program of the Boy Scouts of America. The Order of the Arrow is the BSA's national honor society for experienced campers. In the dealings of the lodge, we pay homage to the traditions of the local Native Americans (in our case the Delaware). We are dedicated to the ideal of cheerful service.

The purposes of the Order of the Arrow are:

1. To recognize those Scout campers who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives,

2. To develop and maintain camping traditions and spirit,

3. To promote Scout camping, and

4. To crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others.

Are you interested in joining? If you're a Boy Scout who's first class or higher, have been approved by your Scoutmaster, and have camped outdoors for at least 20 days and nights, you're eligible to be elected as a member of the OA. Talk to your Scoutmaster OR your Order of the Arrow Troop Representitive to find out when your next election will be.
